Biography
Biography About the Artist Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Caroline Ashley was formally trained at the University of Manitoba. Majoring in Painting, she graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1990. Since that time, she has continued to develop her skills in acrylic painting and in other media including coloured pencil, charcoal and pen & ink. Caroline continues to dedicate a large portion of her work to the beauty of the man-made landscapes in the parks and gardens around us. Her impressionist style and use of vibrant colour are hallmarks of her work. “I choose garden scenes, because they bring me inner peace. I imagine myself taken back in time, walking through those garden paths. I have a strong passion for what I do – to make the world more beautiful one image at a time.” Her work has been shown at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory in Winnipeg, and the Kanata Civic Art Gallery in Ottawa. Caroline’s work can be found in private collections throughout North America and Australia, and in the public collection of the City of Ottawa. Caroline has been a member of the CSC since 2007.
